      Medicare only covers skilled care for up to 100 days.

  • Medicare doesn't pay for 24 hour a day care at home.

  • Does not cover custodial care for activities of daily living: Eating, Bathing, Dressing, Transferring, Toiletting, Continence.

Private Long Term Care Insurance will provide for your choice of care, including at-home healthcare

Medicare only covers these services for a limited period of time.

If you leave the hospital for more than 60 days and then go back, a new benefit period will start and you will be responsible for a new deductible.

Part A is designed to last 90 days per hospital stay, but it can be extended by 60 days throughout your lifetime.
